• Drafts or daylight at the bottom rail in winter. The weatherstrip on Ply Gem sliders is a vinyl pile that compresses flat over time. A Columbus winter with actual freeze-thaw is enough to kill it permanently. The interlock on the 4000 series handles this better than the 1200 series, but any rolled-up pile weatherstrip that’s gone flat needs replacement, not adjustment.
