Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need to know how to hang a window to own a TruePane franchise. What you need is the willingness to follow a system that’s been refined years of serving local communities, and the good sense to know that a square deal beats a quick one every time. We built our training around the same principle we apply to every install: measure twice, do it right, and stand behind the work. Dale Kessler has trained apprentices into journeymen his entire career. He does the same for owners.
Initial Training
Your first week starts at our training facility, where you’ll learn the trade from people who’ve spent decades in it. Not from a binder. From glaziers. You’ll learn how windows and doors function, why some fail in year three, what an out-of-true opening does to a seal, and how to spot the difference between a manufacturer defect and an install error. You don’t become a journeyman in a week – we’re honest about that – but you become fluent enough to talk to customers with confidence and never oversell something you don’t understand.
From there we move to operations: the software that runs the schedule, the quoting tools that put manufacturer lines side by side on paper, the hiring playbook, and the marketing engine that brings calls in. Every owner works through the same playbooks our best locations use, the ones that cover everything from how we answer the phone to how we register both warranty layers before the truck leaves the driveway. That’s The Keystone Standard, and you’ll learn it on day one because it’s the promise every customer hears. Dale built this program for people who’ve never owned a home service business, because he believes craft can be taught and character can’t. Bring the character. We’ll handle the rest.
Launch Support
Opening day shouldn’t feel like jumping off a roof. Before your first truck rolls, our team works with you on local marketing setup: your service area, your listings, your initial ad spend. We make sure the phone number works, the live person answers, and the lead engine has somewhere to send calls. TruePane has always been a company that answers the phone with a person, 24/7. That doesn’t happen by accident, and we’ll wire it into your operation from the first day.
Then come the first jobs. We send a field coach to work alongside your crew on the initial installs, so the habits set correctly from the start. You’ll have direct access to the support team when a quote needs a second set of eyes or a customer has a question you haven’t heard before. Most first-time owners tell us the launch support is what gave them the nerve to sign in the first place. They’re not alone on day one, and they know it.
Ongoing Support
- Field coaching: experienced operations managers who visit locations, watch installs, and tighten the craft. Not a phone call. A person on site with a level in hand.
- Marketing support: local campaigns, national brand work, and the collateral that keeps TruePane top of mind when a homeowner’s window fogs in January.
- Vendor relationships: we negotiate with more than a dozen manufacturer lines – Andersen, Pella, Marvin, Milgard, Jeld-Wen, PGT, CGI, ES Windows – so you get pricing and access that’s hard to earn alone.
- Technology: the quoting software, scheduling tools, and customer communication system stay updated and supported centrally. You run the business, not the back office.
- National brand campaigns: TruePane sponsors county fairs, church roof funds, and local events because a company that plans to be in town in thirty years acts like it. You benefit from a name neighbors already know.
- Peer network: owners share what’s working. No franchise playbook survives contact with a real market unchanged, so we make sure you can talk to the operators who’ve already solved the problem you’re facing.
